April 17, 2010: The Wine Festival is at the Tybee Lighthouse grounds.  We have 9 wine distributors sampling over 100 different domestic and import wines plus about 50 craft beers. 2010 is only our 2nd year and all the wine vendors said our first year was one of the best wine events in the area. We have 9 restaurants serving their specialties.  The $45 cost includes a souvenir wine glass, tote, tours of the theater, entertainment by 3 local groups, silent auction, basket of cheer raffle and a spectacular afternoon on Tybee.  Each vendor will have a tent.  The wine vendors will have staff to educate you about the wines and the restaurants about their food specialties. Last year we had between 250 - 300 people attend and many said it was the best event on the island.  We hope to make it even better for everyone this year. The only extra cost will be if you bid on a silent auction items or buy a raffle ticket.  Parking is available in the public parking lot at the North Beach (bring quarters).

April 16, 2010: Friday night is at Beachside Colony and it will be staged on the lawn, Beachside Colony pool deck and edge of the beach dunes on Friday evening.  It is not in the Marlin Monroe's restaurant.  The owner of the restaurant is providing the food and Beachside Colony is providing the location and "atmosphere". There will be 6 or 8 oyster stations serving a variety of oyster recipes and wines will be served to compliment the oysters.  There will also be a non seafood bar for folks that don't eat oysters.  Entertainment will be provided by the Christy Allen Band, a local favorite for dancing and listening.  The event is 6 -8 pm and the weather forecast looks like it will a perfect way to kick off the weekend.  This event will be similar to a cocktail party with heavy hors-d'ouvers than a buffet dinner.
