Visits Tybee!
Presents
State of Georgia Grant Award of $30,000 to
FOTT on June 20th, 2008 at the Tybee Post
Theater site on Van Horn, Tybee
Island, GA.
Accompanying Rep. Day was Mrs. Sally Day.
Also present were members and ex officio
members
of the Board of Trustees of the Friends of
the Tybee Theater,
Tybee Mayor Jason Buelterman, Tybee City Council
Members Wanda
Doyle, Eddie Crone, Paul Wolff and Dick
Smith,
Tybee Island Historical Society Director Cullen Chambers,
City Planning
Director Brannyn Allen, and several media
representatives.
During the ceremony,
FOTT President Pamela Lappin presented Rep.
Day with a Ltd. edition print of the 2008 commemorative artist
rendering of the Old Post Theater shown
above entitled
"A Star,
Reborn."
The artwork was donated to the 2008
Membership Drive by architect and former fellow FOTT
board member, Edward A. Pyrch.

Artists Tour Site!
Performing
Arts Groups Visit Theater!
The FOTT
Programming Committee hosted an "Open House
for Artists" on Thursday, June 19th from
10:00 AM until 2:00 PM that brought Savannah
area performers, students, directors and
event planners out to Tybee to view the
emerging venue.
Thanks to
Chair Ken Carter and the Committee for
organizing the event. On site FOTT personnel
included board members President
Pamela Lappin, Vice President Gordon
Mathews, Secretary Pam O'Brien, Programming
Committee Chair Ken Carter, Infrastructure
Committee Chair John Herdina, Capital
Campaign Chair Cindy Meyer, PR Chair and
Programming Committee member Cyndi Kinkel, as
well as Richard Adams of
TybeeFest
and Renee
DeRossett from
Savannah Community Theatre
- both Programming Committee members.

Highlights!

Concert
at Tybee Light
A gorgeous evening and a warm welcome
greeted pianist and recording artist Johnny
Herald and Savannah guitarist, John Banks as
well as a
record turn-out of nearly 350 on the Tybee
Lighthouse lawn.
Special thanks
go out to EVERYONE
including our generous FOTT supporters,
contributors and members of the Special
Events Committee - Bonnie Gaster, Belinda
Flannigan, ex officio FOTT board member
